POSITION PURPOSE
To work with the Charge Scenic Artist to realize the finishing of the Set Designer’s vision. While this will primarily mean painting it can also include other forms of cover including wallpapering or other texturizing methods.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation and finishing of scenery for all IRT productions, including special projects undertaken by IRT, such as Development or Marketing events or rentals.
- Help maintain the safety and cleanliness of the Paint Shop, performance spaces, and other areas used by the Paint Shop.
- Assist in the supervision and training other members of the Paint Department, including any overhire.
- Assist the Charge Scenic with ordering, budget tracking, and designer communication.
- Perform such tasks, services, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with IRT policies, rules, regulations, and instructions now in force, or which may be adopted from time to time during Employee’s employment at the IRT.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Other duties as determined by Charge Scenic Artist and Production Manager.
- Other duties may include the covering of a run crew position in an emergency situation.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- At least 2-3 yrs. experience as a valued member of a professional theatre paint department or related work environment with firm deadlines and multiple team and individual projects.
- Experience with safely handling scenic items and materials.
- Experience developing samples and implementing processes.
- Experience leading a project from conception to completion, staying within time, labor, and monetary budgets.

- Ability to analyze reference material to develop and implement samples.
- Ability to perceive and replicate line, shape, color and value using media different from reference.

- Effective and safe use of tools such as scale rulers, stencils, lining sticks, projectors, electropounces, various kinds of sprayer and paint application equipment, MEWPs and other elevation equipment, etc.
- Developed talents such as representational drawing, painting, sculpting (from life, projection, scaled references; any media)
- Process development: assessing reference material (visual and verbal) and resources to choose media, tools, personnel, etc. and complete samples for approval.
- Ability to manage overhire labor on projects
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain a problem-solving attitude. Mental flexibility, creativity, and curiousity about assigned tasks, potential training and sourcing.
- Self-organization including developing, accepting, and implementing priorities.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and Overtime as needed.
- Valid vehicle operator’s license and willingness to drive cargo van preferred.

POSITION PURPOSE
As Audio Video Technician, you are responsible for assisting with the implementation and execution of the audio and video needs for the productions, in addition to tending to departmental needs and improvements.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining primary sound and video systems in both the Mainstage and Upperstage venues as well as all secondary systems including: distributed audio system, video monitoring, headsets, paging systems, and all support systems (rehearsal room, Cabaret, Grand Lobby, temporary/portable systems, etc.).
- Program Qlab playback systems, mix and operate the sound system for all productions as assigned.
- Generate documentation for productions. This includes: Signal flow, show-run labels, processing, cueing notes, cue sheets, and archives.
- Facilitate technical and artistic needs of Sound Designers for related shows and events. This includes, but is not limited to, load in, assembling, rigging, configuring sound and video systems, crafting specialty sound devices, basic audio editing and recording, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Maintain and updating the audio department Mac & Dante networks.
- Attend all mandatory meetings, rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and other functions as assigned.
- Perform such tasks, services, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with IRT policies, rules, regulations, and instructions now in force or which may be adopted from time to time during Employee’s employment at the IRT.
OTHER FUNCTIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- Experience with audio for live theatre.
- Experience with video projections.
- Professional experience or degree in audio technology/theatre technology.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to collaborate with fellow staff and free-lance artists.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

POSITION PURPOSE
As Costume Shop Manager you will determine and maintain a costume production quality of the highest standard and serve as department head.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise staff in all costume/wardrobe areas including, but not limited to: the costume shop, dye room, wig room, wardrobe room, and costume storage.
- Manage budgets for all costume/wardrobe areas and manage all costume bookkeeping including credit card, shop petty cash, and all charge accounts/payment requests.
- Advance and account for Designer spending
- Maintain ongoing books that accurately track the spending for each production and make sure it is in agreement with the Finance Department.
- Oversee the completion of all costume (pull and made to order) elements of a production to the Theatre and Costume Designer’s satisfaction and within department resources.
- Ensure designer shops, plans and addresses design issues to ensure success of design.
- Expedite productions within scheduled deadlines and analyze scripts and ensure the creation of costume plots.
- Attend fittings as necessary for troubleshooting and production continuity and supervise the timely inclusion of fabrics into costume production.
- Manage staff time for payroll and budgeting purposes
- Assist in determining the yearly budgetary needs for all costume/wardrobe areas
- Contribute to a long range planning for the Theatre
- Advise and oversee the season schedule for the costume/wardrobe areas including, but not limited to: designer due dates, designer residency, costume staff work dates and wardrobe staff schedule.
- Attend department head meetings and all production meetings.
- Recruit, interview, and hire staff for all costume/wardrobe areas in consultation with the Production Manager.
- Act as unofficial host to designer during design residency.
- Manage shop supplies, especially stock fabrics, notions, and materials, and manage shop equipment, including repairs, maintenance and replacement.
- Act as liaison with Stage Management for fittings and production notes and with Wardrobe Supervisor/Head for the smooth transition of the costumes from the Shop to dress rehearsal.
- Coordinate costume storage and rentals.
- Perform such tasks, services, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with IRT policies, rules, regulations, and instructions now in force or which may be adopted from time to time during Employee’s employment at the IRT.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Other duties as determined by Production Manager, General Manager and Artistic Director.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- 5-7 years of experience working in professional costume environments
- Experience managing a shop budget
- Experience supervising a team of 3 or more

POSITION PURPOSE
The Electrician will perform duties assigned by the Lighting Manager in hanging, focusing, and programming equipment for Mainstage and Upperstage productions. This position will also assist in maintaining shows, repair, and maintenance of equipment, and general clean-up.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist the Lighting Manager in hanging, focusing, and programming equipment for productions.
· Programming and associated research necessary for console operations and cueing of productions.
· Associated research necessary for programming/managing LED fixtures
· Run and maintain shows, prepare for upcoming shows, maintain and repair equipment, and general clean-up as assigned.
· Assist in lighting in-house events and rentals as assigned.
· Sit in on tech rehearsals and attend post tech production meetings determined by Lighting Manager.
· If not assigned to a specific show, the individual may be called upon to cover a show in case of emergency.
· Perform such tasks, services, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with IRT policies, rules, regulations, and instructions now in force or which may be adopted from time to time during Employee’s employment at the IRT.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
· Other duties as determined by the Lighting Manager, and Production Manager.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
· 2-3 years in a theatrical environment or parallel experience.
· Experience with lighting equipment and ETC Control systems.
· Experience programming ETC lighting consoles a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

POSITION PURPOSE
As the Junior Draper, you are a theatrical craftsperson and will be assigned construction projects commensurate with those skills.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use the sketch provided by the Costume Designer to create the costume under the leadership of the Senior Draper.
- Assist in fabricating patterns, either by draping or flat pattern making, for specific actors and fit the costume to the actor.
- Perform complex sewing and tailoring.
- Cut the fabric for the costume from the pattern and determine yardage for fabric and trim for the costume including stock fabrics.
- Assist in keeping records of show fabrics and yardages.
- Correct patterns or alter costumes as necessary.
- Assist in researching period, style and techniques necessary to complete the costume within the Costume Designer’s guidelines.
- Assist in pulling as needed and sit with the designer at technical rehearsals and previews as assigned.
- Maintain your personal work area, including sewing machinery, cutting table, and bulletin boards as necessary to keep work moving effectively and to promote a professional environment.
- Maintain inventory of sewing supplies and fabrics and communicate needs in a timely manner.
- Attend weekly shop meetings and consult with other team members, co-workers, and Costume Shop Manager concerning problems and their possible solutions.
- Talk with visitors and tour groups as needed.
- Perform other duties such as pulling, restocking, and maintenance.
- Work with the Prop Shop to in the creation of soft good, such as curtains, pillows, tablecloths, etc…
- Perform such tasks, services, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with IRT policies, rules, regulations, and instructions now in force or which may be adopted from time to time during Employee’s employment at the IRT.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Other duties as determined by Costume Shop Manager, Prop Shop Manager and Production Manager.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- 1-2 years’ experience as a draper or advanced degree in costume technology
- Ability to work in a team and maintain a productive and problem solving environment.
- Ability to collaborate with fellow staff and free-lance artists.
- Experience cutting out patterns and manipulating fabric
